Logistics Freight Coordinator

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is seeking a Logistics Coordinator who will be responsible for the daily tactical execution and continuous improvement initiatives of the Company’s shipments moving throughout North America. This position will be responsible for timely and accurate execution of order management, carrier selection, shipment tracking, issue resolution, and reporting. The Logistics Coordinator will also maintain continuous contact with the Customer Care groups, Transportation Services, International Logistics, Sales and Marketing, and plant shipping personnel to secure and manage uninterrupted transportation services and materials flow throughout the network.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage, track, and trace orders in transit to ensure that all shipments are (a) executing to plan, (b) ensure that all load statuses in TMS are accurate and on-time, (c) report any shipment delays internally and externally, (d) provide accurate and timely updates to customers upon request, (e) investigate root causes of delays and impacts to customers, and (f) exception report.
  • Select low-cost mode, carrier and/or freight forwarder based on customer-specific routing instructions and/or routing guides.
  • Provide effective customer service through daily interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Conduct and provide recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying internal and external cost savings opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain Transportation Management SOPs and Process Flows.
  • Prepare data and report cost reduction opportunities to the Corporate Freight, Truckload/Rail and Less Than Truckload Managers.
  • Process and coordinate pickup of 3PL orders throughout our RDC network. Set up routing and freight for new accounts.
  • Coordinate TL and LTL, damage, and shortage-related claims with Financial Services and Supply Chain Claims and Compliance departments.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience in Shaw Supply Chain groups preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of Shaw Online Live, Shaw Mainframe screens, Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, OneDrive).
