Albemarle Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support rail operations at our Pasadena plant, ensuring efficient transportation scheduling, compliance, and seamless coordination across the supply chain

What You Will Do

  • Planning and Coordination: Develop transportation schedules and routes to ensure timely delivery while optimizing costs.

  • Customer Service: Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints related to deliveries.

  • Cost Optimization: Analyze logistics costs and identifying opportunities to reduce expenses without compromising service quality.

  • Problem Resolution: Address issues such as delayed shipments, damaged goods, or customs disputes to minimize disruptions.

  • Tracking and Reporting: Monitor shipments in real-time using tracking systems and providing updates to stakeholders.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and process shipping documents, such as bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork, while ensuring compliance with regulations.

  • Vendor and Carrier Management: Negotiate contracts with transportation providers, freight forwarders, and other third-party logistics (3PL) partners.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking, coordinating with warehouses to ensure proper storage conditions.

Skills

  • Supply Chain Management: Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.

  • Technology Proficiency: Skilled in TMS (Transportation Management Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), ERP platforms, and data analytics tools.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of transportation and customs regulations.

  • Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze logistics costs and manage budgets effectively.

  • Communication: Clear and professional interaction with suppliers, carriers, and customers.

  • Problem-Solving: Expertise in resolving challenges such as shipment delays, damaged goods, and inventory issues.

  • Time Management: Efficiently handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing regulations, market conditions, and operational priorities.

  • Rail Operations: Familiar with rail regulations and rail car maintenance

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field

  • CLTD (Certification in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution)
