Localization Project/Program Manager who’s excited to help our products shine and resonate across languages and cultures just as powerfully as they do in the US.

A Lot About You
As a Localization Project/Program Manager at Yahoo, you will lead and coordinate the end‑to‑end localization efforts for multiple products and content types globally. You will ensure timely delivery of high‑quality localized experiences, manage vendors and internal stakeholders, optimize workflows, and support our global expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end localization strategy, ensuring global readiness and alignment with business objectives.
Define project scope, goals, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with product, engineering, content, and other stakeholders.
Plan and manage localization workflows across multiple projects, from intake to delivery, including resource allocation, risk management, and quality control.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors / LSPs / freelance linguists / reviewers to ensure all deliveries meet scope, budget, schedule and quality expectations.
Oversee overall language quality for de-DE and perform linguistic review of UI, Help and Marketing content.
Create and maintain language assets (style guides, glossaries, translation memory, and implement and maintain i18n and l10n localization standards and best practices across Yahoo.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, UX/UI, Content, and Marketing teams to integrate localization early in their roadmaps and ensure localization is part of the product lifecycle rather than an afterthought.
Help manage quality assurance and linguistic localization QA cycles, bug tracking.
Drive continuous process improvement and automation through the evaluation of tools and models to integrate with in-house TMS, documenting workflows and How-To’s, and scaling localization operations to support growth.
Coordinate with vendors on talent selection, onboarding, and ongoing performance management.
Qualifications & Skills
Native-level proficiency in German (de-DE) is required, as well as fluency in English. Additional languages are a strong plus.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Project/Program Management, or related field.
5+ years of experience in localization or translation project/program management in a software / digital media environment; managing multiple large‑scale, cross‑functional, multilingual projects.
Knowledge of localization workflows, CAT/TMS tools, localization‑friendly file formats (JSON, XML, XLIFF, etc.), and i18n best practices.
Familiarity with AI-powered localization workflows and evaluation of AI output quality
Excellent project management, organizational, and multitasking skills; comfortable managing tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and multiple stakeholders across time zones.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills — ability to liaise with engineering, product, content, marketing, and vendor teams globally, via Meet, email and Slack.
Experience managing language assets, including glossaries, style guides, and related linguistic resources.
Experience creating and maintaining clear, well-structured documentation
Problem‑solving attitude and a proactive approach to process improvement and scaling.
Preferred
Familiarity with Yahoo products
Knowledge of prompt engineering for AI-powered localization tools
Interest in applying generative AI to optimize multilingual content processes

The compensation for this position ranges from $76,500.00 - $159,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
