Job Description:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks. The LPN is an essential member of the healthcare team offering patient care and supporting higher level nurse and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services.
Unit Description:
The Sentara Princess Anne Hospital provides exceptional emergency care to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week with expert staff, cutting-edge technology and specialty services, including:
Board-certified emergency physicians
Emergency nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support, trauma and pediatric certifications
Pediatric-trained team to treat children of all ages
Overnight observation rooms for children and a separate family-friendly waiting area
Seamless connection to easily accessible radiology department
Landing pad for Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance to ensure quicker treatment in emergency situations
LPN REQUIREMENTS
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing REQUIRED
Basic Life Support (BLS) REQUIRED
LPN Certificate/Diploma REQUIRED
LPN experience in a hospital setting REQUIRED
ED experience preferred
