Serves as the primary contact and coordinator of services supporting individuals with Mental Health or Substance Abuse Issues in residential, school, workplace and community settings. Coordinates and monitors the array of services and supports identified in each person’s Person Centered Plan. These interventions are strength-based and focused on promoting recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and achievement of the highest level of functioning in the community. Supervision is provided according to supervision requirements. Supervises and directs the work of others to provide quality services.

$1,000 Sign On Bonus

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 annually

Location: Community Based covering Scotland/Robeson, primarily Scotland County

RHA is seeking an Intensive In-Home Behavioral Health Team Leader

RHA Behavioral Health Services is looking for dedicated Behavioral Health Team Leaders to lead an interdisciplinary healthcare team providing support to individuals in residential, school, workplace and community settings.

Position Details:

Intensive In-Home (IIH) service is a team approach designed to address the identified needs of children and adolescents, who due to serious and chronic symptoms of an emotional, behavioral, and/or substance use disorders, are unable to remain stable in the community without intensive interventions. This service may only be provided to individuals through age 20. This medically necessary service directly addresses the recipient’s mental health and/or substance-related diagnostic and clinical needs. The needs are evidenced by the presence of a diagnosable mental, behavioral, or emotional disturbance (as defined by DSM-V and its successors), with documentation of symptoms and effects reflected in the comprehensive clinical assessment and the Person Centered Plan. This team provides a variety of clinical rehabilitative interventions available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Our ideal Team Leader is a licensed professional who is an excellent communicator and listener with strong therapeutic skills who works well as part of an interdisciplinary team and runs open and productive therapy sessions. You must also excel at behavioral interviewing techniques to uncover service user needs and be able to anticipate these needs.

Additional requirements for the Licensed Professional  include:

  • Graduate degree in Counseling or a related field
  • Valid licensure to provide mental/behavioral healthcare in the state of North Carolina
  • A provisionally licensed or board-eligible Qualified Professional actively seeking licensure may serve as the team leader conditional upon being fully licensed within 30 months from the effective date of this policy. For provisionally licensed team leaders hired after the effective date of this policy, the 30-month timeline begins at date of hire
  • Licenses include LPC, LCSW, LCMHC or LMFT.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with individuals with mental and/or behavioral health issues that includes writing person-centered plans, conducting effective group therapy and providing mental health diagnoses
  • General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds and meet the physical requirements of performing CPR and therapeutic holds
  • Employee supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
