Job Summary:

Join our team as a Library Collections & Services Specialist, where you will bridge the gap between global information and campus discovery. In this role, you will curate and enhance worldwide accessible catalog records for a diverse array of print, digital, and technological resources, ensuring our shared data infrastructures serve faculty and students across the globe. By partnering closely with staff across the library, you’ll maintain the vital link between our digital presence and physical collections, ensuring every item is accurately described and easy to find. Beyond the data, you will celebrate our academic community by assisting with faculty and student recognition events, creating engaging exhibits, and providing backup for interlibrary loan.

Job Duties:

Reporting Relationships:    

  • This role will report directly to the Assistant Director, Collection Strategies & Discovery 

Work Setting/Work Schedule:

  • This is an on campus student facing job

  • Full-time, non-exempt role working 40 hours per week 52 weeks per year

What You Will Do:

  • Receives and catalogs incoming items (print books, DVD’s, CD's, Gov. Docs and other types of materials) to be added to the library’s collection.  Ensures requested incoming items are promptly cataloged, processed and placed on hold to ensure quick delivery of the items to the requestor.

  • Assists with collections lifecycle, fixes catalog records and contains errors, and conducts physical processing improvements such as new barcodes, spine labels, and repairs to damaged books.

  • Provides exhibition assistance for events, including adding local bibliographic.  Bucknell University notes relevant catalog records, creating cover copies for use at events, assisting with event set up and curating exhibits.

  • Participates in interlibrary loan, acquisitions, and public services work.

What You Will Bring:

Required:

  • High school Diploma or GED

Preferred, but not required:

  • Vocational or technical training or degree

  • One (1) ore more years of experience in Library services or related experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Office environment/no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands

Salary Range:

17.16-21.45

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy. 

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
