Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), Position Description Number T5621P01 and is part of the Kansas National Guard.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experiences gained through civilian and/or military technical training schools within the human resources business programs; have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. The following seven basic qualification competency factors are applicable to the Series GS-0201 career levels: Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit efficient communication; Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings; Ability to assess body language and perceive emotional and/or distress levels; and,Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-9). Knowledge of, and skill in applying fundamental Human Resource (HR) management methods, principles and practices. Experience advising management on matters relating to the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program such as recruitment and placement, voluntary and involuntary separation actions and retirement actions, AFSC/MOS requirements. Experience advising, assisting managers and employees; applying rules and regulations; and researching and analyzing policy regarding a variety of HR issues. Knowledge of the organizational structures of the National Guard.
