We are seeking a talented individual to join our Data Centre Operations team at Marsh & McLennan Asia Business Services (MMABS). This role will be based in our Pavilion Damansara Corporate Towers, Kuala Lumpur office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working as per respective team's arrangement.

Level 2 Python Engineer - Network Security

The NSI L2 Network Security Python Engineer is an exciting and challenging role within an experienced team, responsible for ensuring the availability and efficient operation of MMC's network security infrastructure worldwide through development of internal tools. This hybrid position requires a commitment to working at least three days a week in the office. Technical expertise and aptitude combined with a positive, collaborative, and can-do attitude is required to make this senior role successful.

We will count on you to:

  • Develop custom NSI tooling in accordance with Marsh's established development practices to support network security initiatives.

  • Implement business-as-usual (BAU) changes effectively to ensure the ongoing integrity and reliability of network security tools.

  • Provide Tier I support for BAU incidents, troubleshooting issues promptly to minimize network security disruptions.

  • Produce and maintain comprehensive operational documentation to support BAU processes and facilitate knowledge sharing.

  • Actively contribute innovative ideas and improvements to enhance BAU processes through development efforts.

  • Set and uphold high standards and best practices within the team through your dedication and work ethic.

  • Build strong collaborative relationships and work closely with other teams across Marsh Technology to achieve common goals.

  • Exercise sound judgment and make well-informed decisions when faced with complex or high-pressure situations.

  • Demonstrate initiative by working independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of your responsibilities

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Minimum 5 years hands on experience in Python within a complex, large scale, international, multi-vendor environment.

  • Strong leadership abilities and team management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Development skills in (but not limited to):

    • Working knowledge of Python, JSON / YAML with the ability to write and debug scripts.

    • Working knowledge of API programming.

    • Working knowledge of GitHub.

    • Working knowledge of Docker and containers.

    • Working knowledge of Ansible / Terraform.
