Job Summary: This position is located at Departmental Offices,Terrorism and Financial Intelligence - Office of Foreign Assets Control. As a Legislative Affairs Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing support to OFAC's Senior Advisor for Legislative Affairs by coordinating communication efforts in pending or proposed legislation relating to OFAC programs and authorities.

Qualifications: You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes the following: - Advising principals on sanctions legislation matters; AND - Leading preparation for and hosting briefing and meetings; AND - Coordinates with senior officials on legislation matters. Specialized experience for the GS-12 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes the following: - Researching and advising on sanctions legislation matters; AND - Participating in briefings and meetings. Specialized experience for the GS-11 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-09 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes the following: - Advising on legislative matters; AND - Assisting in the logistical preparation for meetings between staff and responding to inquiries. This may include duties such as preparing agendas and coordinating travel. OR EDUCATION: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: - Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field related to the position; OR - 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR - LL.M., if related to the position. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Can perform the required tasks efficiently and is proficient in applying the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the job.
