Are you keen to combine your legal industry knowledge with cutting-edge technology?

Our Legal Solutions Consultant is responsible for driving gross sales by proactively developing and helping to close solution sales opportunities. By engaging and assisting customers throughout the sales process, you will provide deep product and workflow expertise across the entire Thomson Reuters Legal Ecosystem. You will advise customers and the sales team to determine specific needs, identifying the right combinations of our comprehensive legal offerings to drive sales, optimise legal workflows, and increase customer retention. In particular, you will be driving the 'Trial / Demo / Solution Recommended' phase across our complete suite of legal solutions.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Legal Solutions Consultant, you will:

  • Engage in solution advocacy: Utilise best-in-class technology to provide solution expertise across the entire Thomson Reuters Legal Ecosystem (including research, workflow, management, and AI-driven solutions) during the sales cycle. This involves supporting specialist sales teams to define and scope the appropriate solutions to fulfil customer needs.
  • Understand customer requirements: Identify specific needs and leverage the full breadth of Thomson Reuters' legal capabilities to develop strong, tailored proposals that differentiate us from competitors.
  • Execute demonstrations: Manage, lead, and deliver highly relevant product demonstrations across our interconnected legal platforms during the customer buying cycle.
  • Drive the sales cycle: Respond quickly to new leads, working with urgency to progress deals through the pipeline.
  • Achieve targets: Develop and help to close new opportunities to meet and exceed recurring and outright Gross Sales quotas.
  • Maintain industry expertise: Keep up to date with news, policy changes, regulations, and the activities of major players in the legal industry to maintain the domain knowledge required to lead high-level discussions and present publicly.
  • Champion the customer: Act as an advocate for customer needs, feeding back critical insights to the business and product teams.
  • Act as a technology evangelist: Champion the complete Thomson Reuters legal ecosystem. Confidently present and contextualise our connected solutions to customers and partners through webinars, seminars, and workshops.

About You
 

You are a fit for the role of Legal Solutions Consultant if your background includes:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a software/SaaS solutions consultant or pre-sales role.
  • Strong client-facing and presentation skills (both verbal and written).
  • A demonstrated understanding of the challenges facing global reporting and compliance requirements, and the key data, information, and processes necessary to confront those challenges.
  • Strong commercial skills, including a thorough understanding of the sales process and experience managing the bid or proposal process (including responding to RFPs/RFIs).
  • Excellent consultative and problem-solving skills (acting as a technology advocate with a solution-oriented mindset).
  • Business proficiency in both Japanese and English is preferred.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: A deep understanding of the needs, opportunities, and workflows related to modern legal technology and interconnected legal ecosystems (nice to have).
