What you will be responsible for
As Legal Entity Governance Lead, you will
Regulatory & Risk Expertise
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance standards (e.g., banking regulations, financial reporting requirements).
Regulatory Engagement: Work with Compliance team to liaison with the HKMA and other regulators on thematic review, remediation updates and supervisory dialogue.
Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with branch operations.
Legal Entity Governance:
Maintain robust governance structures, including board and committee oversight, delegation frameworks and compliance with local regulatory obligations.
Responsible for the implementation, maintenance of, and monitoring adherence to applicable policies and procedures to support regulatory requirements.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of governance frameworks, policies and management of any framework managing the authority of operations of the legal entities.
Leadership & Execution
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with staff, customers, and other stakeholders.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
Program Management: Experience leading cross-functional regulatory programs with complex interdependencies and tight timelines.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in experience in banking, finance or a related industry, with a focus on governance, compliance, or risk management with a proven track record of success.
Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and governance practices together with a thorough understanding of State Street’s business and product offerings.
Excellent analytical, leadership, organizational, and communication skills with an ability to influence others and to promote teamwork across the organization.
High ethical standards, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, finance, management) is required.
