Legal Counsel (Norwegian Native Speaker)

Barcelona Full time

We are seeking a Legal Counsel in Barcelona to join our Commercial Legal Team - EMEA, with a focus on supporting client work (commercial and public sector) in the Nordics.

What you’ll do:

  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with Gartner clients, both commercial and public sector, based on standard Gartner agreement documents and on Clients’ own paperwork as required.

  • Advise on legal issues and risks, approval processes, company policies and procedures

  • Maintain a close, highly collaborative relationship partners across a broad array of teams, including Sales, Consulting, Global Contracts Team and within Legal & Compliance 

  • When required, provide assistance to other Legal & Compliance team members for matters requiring regional expertise or language skills

  • Support internal training 

  • Ensure corporate governance

  • Support with annual financial reporting 

Markers of success:

  • Successful negotiation of Contracts in a timely manner

  • Handle a large volume of negotiations in parallel

  • Negotiate with senior client management

  • Protection of Gartner’s intellectual property and limit liability

  • Strong and collaborative relationships with both clients and other Gartner associates

  • Ability to perform well under pressure, including month and quarter close

What you'll need:

  • University degree in law and relevant qualifications to practice as an attorney/advokat in Norway

  • Verbal and written fluency in English and Norwegian. Proficiency in Swedish and/or Danish an advantage, but not required. 

  • Approximately 5-6 years of experience in the legal department or a law firm

  • Practical experience in negotiating contracts involving intellectual property in an international business environment

  • Experience supporting Norwegian public sector transactions in the Doffin and TED portals preferred

  • Excellent negotiation skills and good time management

  • Ability to present effectively to internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate protection of Gartner’s interests, whilst concentrating on the issues that really matter

  • Ability to prioritize workload based on value of business to Gartner versus complexity of negotiation whilst working to month-end and quarter-end sales deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle pressure from sales and consulting management
