BeOne Medicines (“BeOne”) is a rapidly growing, global commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing innovative molecularly targeted and immuno-oncology drugs for the treatment of cancer.

We are seeking a Legal Counsel that will play a central role in the legal support of the company and our colleagues from different departments. As an integrated part of many workstreams the Legal Counsel will be pivotal in decisions on and alignment of strategic questions. The work will primarily focus on the support of the German affiliate, but also include involvement in cross-border, pan-European or international projects.  The Legal Counsel will report to the Legal Lead for Germany and be part of BeOne’s Europe, New Markets & JAPAC Legal Team.

The position requires native-level proficiency and/or fluency in German and English.

Key Responsibilities:

The expected focus lies in particular on the following legal areas:

  • Contract law (e.g., drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with service providers, physicians, and healthcare organizations)

  • Advertising law for medicinal products (review of advertisements, presentations, and documentation; negotiation and support in competition law disputes)

  • Individual and collective labor law (e.g., drafting and negotiating works agreements, supporting the HR department with labor law issues)

  • Anti-corruption law (e.g., close cooperation with the compliance department in reviewing and evaluating collaborations with physicians, healthcare institutions, and patient organizations)

  • Pharmaceutical law

  • Competition and antitrust law

  • Rebate law (e.g., support of market access department in negotiating rebate agreements, reimbursement negotiations)

In your role as Legal Counsel you are expected to

  • Represent BeOne in legal disputes before national courts

  • Manage and handle the communication with and engagement of external legal counsel

  • Regularly provide legal trainings to colleagues and stakeholders

  • Be willing to conduct business trips within Germany and international (up to 15% of working time)

  • Participate and represent BeOne in working groups of industry associations or in the dialog with public institutions

Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in one or more of the legal areas listed above and willingness to learn and gather expertise in the others

  • +7 years of Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry experience,

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on feasibility.

  • Fluent in German and English.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical conduct. Strong social skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
