Position Title: Legal Assistant
Location: Jay, Oklahoma
Status: Full-Time | Immediate Opening
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Benefits: Full State of Oklahoma benefits, including a generous monthly health insurance allowance, paid sick leave and vacation accrued monthly, and paid holidays. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (day shift)
Position Summary: The Office of the District Attorney for the 13th Judicial District is seeking a qualified and motivated Legal Assistant to support prosecutors in a fast-paced legal environment.
Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting prosecutors with case management and court calendars
• Drafting legal documents and correspondence
• Maintaining electronic case files and docketing systems
• Managing court dates and deadlines
• Performing general office and administrative duties
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred, but not required
• Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal is required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficiency in personal computing and office software
• Experience with case or document management systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• A desire to serve the public with professionalism and excellence
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Office environment with routine physical demands associated with administrative and clerical work.
