Legal Assistant: Fixed-Term (CDD)

Would you like to gain hands‑on experience within the legal function of a global, value‑driven organization supporting international trade?

We are looking for a Legal Assistant who will support the Country Legal Manager in delivering efficient, business‑oriented legal services across Maersk Côte d’Ivoire’s operations. This role provides structured, hands‑on exposure to the legal function within a multinational logistics and maritime group, with particular focus on:

  • Commercial and contract law
  • OHADA law
  • International law
  • Maritime law matters
  • Dispute and litigation support

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Management & Commercial Support

  • Assist in reviewing, drafting, and archiving standard contracts.
  • Support contract lifecycle management processes.
  • Maintain and update contract registers and tracking tools.
  • Prepare contract summary matrices and risk notes.

2. OHADA Law

  • Assist in preparing corporate documentation and regulatory filings and compliance monitoring.
  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation (OHADA, customs law, maritime regulations, labour law).
  • Draft regulatory update briefs.

3. Employment Law & Internal Matters

  • Support the Legal and HR teams in labour law compliance matters.
  • Contribute to internal policy updates and compliance materials.

4. Dispute Resolution & Litigation

  • Compile and organize documentation for ongoing litigation or disputes.
  • Assist in preparing briefing notes for external counsel.
  • Draft internal litigation status reports.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in OHADA Business Law, Maritime Law or International Law
  • Additional exposure to logistics, customs, or labour law is a strong advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong legal drafting and analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (French required; English strongly preferred)
  • High level of integrity and discretion
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Business‑oriented mindset
