About This Opportunity  

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lecturer to join our world-class School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your teaching and research profile within the broad discipline areas of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. This role will have an initial focus on coordinating and teaching course(s) within the Master of Pharmaceutical Industry Practice at UQ. Additional course development work may be required, and you may also teach across other programs within the School and other courses that fall within the teaching responsibility of the School.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Contribute to the development of new programs and course material in the area of focus, by consulting with program advisors and stakeholders, ensuring courses are engaging, relevant and contemporary.

  • Teach across different settings and actively contribute towards educational practice and innovative curriculum design including online learning and alternative teaching methods.

  • Coordinate courses, prepare and deliver lectures and tutorials, and undertake assessment and marking for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

  • Work with colleagues and postgraduates in the development and conduct of joint research projects and applications for external research funding, which includes actively seeking, obtaining and managing research funding.

  • Maintain an active and effective record of publishing in high quality national research journals, other appropriate refereed publications and conference publications.

  • Contribute to the supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.

  • Efficiently manage allocated internal service roles and processes, including participation in decision-making and service on relevant committees.

About You 

  • PhD in the broad area of pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences.

  • A growing profile in teaching and research in the fields above.

  • A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.

  • Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.

  • Evidence of a high level of quality teaching, which can be at undergraduate, honours or postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.

  • Demonstrated contributions to the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in pharmacy and/or pharmaceutical sciences. Experience in course coordination is desirable.

  • A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.

  • Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.
