Lecturer in Chinese (Advanced Conversation and Composition)

The Department of German, Russian, Asian Languages and Literature at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for CHIN 105b Advanced Conversation and Composition II, a 4 credit course in Spring 2026. This course is designed for advanced students who wish to enhance and improve their speaking proficiency and writing skills. The class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 11:15-12:05. In addition, the instructor is expected to offer one hour of office hours each week.

Eligibility Requirements:
Degree Required: MA
Degree Field: Chinese language teaching or related field
Years of experience required beyond the degree earned: At least three years of experience teaching Chinese as a foreign language, native or near-native fluency in both Chinese and English, and computer literacy.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.

Compensation for this four-credit course is $8550.44.
