The School of Engineering Medicine in collaboration with Texas A&M College of Engineering, Texas A&M School of Medicine and the state’s top-ranked Houston Methodist Hospital offer an innovative medical school program called ENMED. This program was established to transform healthcare through translational interdisciplinary research, the development of medical technologies, and the development and training of “Physicianeers.” ENMED delivers a revolutionary blended curriculum with focus on innovation and entrepreneurship where students receive a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Engineering degree in the same four years.
What we want
The Learning Technology Consultant provides operational, technical, and project coordination support for the School of Engineering Medicine’s academic technology environment. This position supports the execution of the School’s digital ecosystem strategy by assisting with learning systems, academic technology platforms, training, documentation, and the coordination of academic technology initiatives

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years of related experience in course design/curriculum design and management of systems/software, including demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity in a higher education setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years of related experience
Master’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in managing academic and information technology infrastructure
Experience in the design and development of instructional materials
Experience supporting SharePoint site development and workflow automation to enhance instructional and academic processes.
Experience in the development of technical processes and retention policies
Responsibilities
Academic Technology Operation and User Assistance
Provides day-to-day technical support for academic technology systems supporting teaching, learning, and administrative processes.
Assists faculty, staff, and students with the effective use of learning systems and integrated academic technologies.
Supports testing, validation, and rollout of system updates, enhancements, and configuration changes.
Communicates system changes and operational updates to end users in coordination with the Assistant Director of Academic Technology.
Academic Technology Operations & Process Improvement Support
Supports departmental SharePoint site management and intranet systems, including content updates, permissions support, and basic configuration aligned with established standards.
Assists with workflow automation and process improvement efforts using approved platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Power Automate, Laserfiche), including documentation and coordination with stakeholders.
Supports the management and maintenance of academic listservs and distribution lists by processing access requests, updates, and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
Provides additional operational and project support to meet evolving academic technology needs as assigned by the Assistant Director of Academic Technology.
System Support, Reporting, and Project Coordination
Assists with user access, permissions, and role provisioning for academic technology systems in accordance with established protocols.
Prepares usage reports, summaries, and documentation to support academic technology planning and decision-making.
Coordinates academic technology project activities by tracking tasks, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
Assists the Assistant Director of Academic Technology with documentation, analysis, and coordination related to academic technology initiatives, pilots, and system improvements.
Documentation and Resource Development
Develops, maintains, and updates documentation, job aids, and reference materials supporting academic technology systems.
Supports the organization and maintenance of knowledge resources related to the School of Engineering Medicine’s digital ecosystem.
Training and Development
Designs and delivers training sessions and workshops for faculty on academic technology tools and systems.
Provides ongoing support and guidance to faculty to promote effective use of instructional technologies.
Develops and updates training materials to support faculty learning and adoption.
