Position Summary

The Learning Specialist in University Advancement at Washington University is responsible for developing and delivering advanced learning solutions for 500 staff positions.
The Specialist will serve as a member of the Advancement Systems Learning Team and will report to the Manager of Learning & User Support. The Advancement Systems Learning Team is focused on improving individual and team performance and has expertise in change management and training.

The primary focus of the Learning Specialist is to create compelling general and role-specific Advancement Systems training for University Advancement staff and University Partners, with an emphasis on training for the department’s Salesforce CRM. The Specialist will lead training and also design and develop new learning solutions. The Specialist will provide consultation on best practices for learning effectiveness to presenters and internal partners.

The Specialist will ensure that all training is delivered at a high level of quality, and will exhibit a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Development and Delivery of Training Content

  • Analyze learning needs of University Advancement staff.
  • Design and develop blended learning solutions to meet the specific goals of the initiative, such as classroom instruction, virtual webinars, videos, e-Learning, performance support tools, and other learning solutions.
  • Evaluate each learning solution at varying levels, depending on specific needs and goals of the program and/or request of management. Evaluation results will inform learning solution revisions, as necessary.
  • Manage curriculum and participant lists in the Learning Management System.
  • Facilitate live or virtual classroom training, or support facilitation by internal subject matter experts; potentially provide train-the-trainers for internal client-led facilitation.

Learning Program Management and Execution

  • Manage all phases of the analysis, design, development, and delivery of learning solutions.
  • Set realistic expectations for training development and delivery schedule.
  • Schedule and meet milestones for final training delivery.
  • Coordinate with presenters on key content.

Salary Range

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
