The Learning Specialist Coordinator of Academic Engagement and Achievement will assist the Center to fulfill its mission by providing individual learning strategies consultations, workshops, and conducting and coordinating events and programs related to teaching students best practices in learning and test taking strategies.
85% Caseload Management: Provide academic and learning support to students in the form of individual and group learning strategy consultations by appointment or walk-in at the CAS office and other on-campus locations; create content, resources, and materials relevant to increasing student learning; support all on-going retention services and programs and assist with select programs or services as directed. Track the academic progress/health of assigned populations; monitor student participation in academic interventions; enagage in regular communication with assigned populations to increase retention efforts, provide updates, and address any concerns. Maintain accurate records and track relevant data to support case progress and outcomes.
15% Outreach, Presentations, Programs, and Administration: Conduct outreach and other activities to promote the Center and its programs and services; provide information and render academic assistance to faculty, staff, and the general public. Assist with the creation and implementation of programs to help increase student learning and student retention. Help facilitate assessment and evaluation for programs and services. Perform administrative duties for the Center for Academic Success. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of professional experience (Masters or PhD may substitute for experience); Background in STEM, counseling, social work, education, or higher education administration. Experience in student support in higher education, especially in blended (online and virtual) environments. Knowledge of Adobe Suite, specifically Adobe Illustrator or InDesign.
Competencies:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; Knowledge of MicroSoft Office.
Additional Information:
Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required.
