Position Summary
The Learning Solutions Architect is a forward-thinking role focused on designing and delivering impactful training programs while evolving CVS Health’s overall approach to learning and development. This role is central to transforming how colleagues learn and grow by driving innovation in learning design, delivery, and operational processes. Working across business units, the Learning Solutions Architect identifies opportunities to create scalable, high-impact learning experiences that move beyond traditional formats—such as classroom training and eLearning—by introducing creative, technology-enabled solutions. The role also champions continuous improvement, Agile execution, and new ways of working that promote collaboration, speed, and adaptability, all while aligning with enterprise learning standards and business goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Innovation in Learning Modalities and Work Design: Identify and implement forward-thinking learning approaches that extend beyond current modalities. Explore and apply emerging technologies and methods to enhance engagement, accessibility, and impact. Advocate for and experiment with new ways of working—such as design thinking, rapid prototyping, and collaborative co-creation—to accelerate innovation and improve outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and implement efficiencies in design processes to eliminate waste and enhance the quality of training materials. Monitor and report on the impact of these efficiencies and operationalize improvements.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, subject matter experts, HR partners, and Enterprise Training colleagues across business units. Co-lead stakeholder engagement and alignment efforts in partnership with the designated business unit Learning Strategist to ensure training strategies reflect prioritized business needs.
- Learning Needs Assessment: Co-lead the assessment of training and performance needs in collaboration with the aligned business unit Learning Strategist. Conduct comprehensive analyses to identify gaps and expectations for target populations, leveraging data-driven insights to inform learning strategies and solution design.
- Instructional Design: Apply formal instructional design methodologies to create sophisticated, performance-focused learning solutions. Design experiences that may include—but are not limited to—eLearning, instructor-led training, immersive simulations, mobile learning, and other innovative formats. Develop storyboards and materials that align with adult learning theory and instructional design standards.
- Project Management: Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and performance needs are met. Employ Agile methodologies such as iterative design sprints and cross-functional collaboration to streamline processes and enhance execution.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure a high-quality product through application of and compliance with CVS writing and technical standards. Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and participants to continuously improve training content.
- Collaboration and Communication: Partner with Enterprise Training teams to maintain enterprise-wide learning standards and reporting requirements. Clearly communicate project objectives and progress to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Technical Acumen: Use authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Vyond, Audition, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects to create eLearning and multimedia courses, as well as facilitator and participant guides. Upload courses into LMS and/or LXP platforms in accordance with technical and assignment requirements, including SCORM packaging and metadata tagging.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in applying performance-based instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, performance consulting, and education media.
- 5+ years of instructional design experience
- 2+ years eLearning authoring tools, including Articulate Storyline 360, Audition, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in identifying process efficiencies.
- Proven ability to convert raw content into structured storyboard formats.
- Experience working in a large, matrixed organization and collaborating across business units.
- Ability to translate business strategy into learning strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- After Effects is a plus.
- Vyond is a plus.
- Six Sigma green belt certification is a plus.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent years of work experience may be considered.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$66,330.00 - $145,860.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
