Overall Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Testing Project/Program Engineer to join AT&T’s Connected Solutions team. Our team brings connectivity to cars, delivers visibility for fleet management, and creates solutions to support millions of connected IoT devices worldwide.
As a Lead Testing Project/Program Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering testing initiatives on time and within scope, while ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This role calls for a strong background in project management, software testing, QA leadership, program management, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to drive alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Operational Planning and Execution
Coordinate with project managers, QA leads, development teams, and business stakeholders to ensure testing activities align with overall program objectives.
Manage program-level risks, dependencies, and resource planning for comprehensive testing initiatives.
Track and report on testing progress, quality metrics, and overall program health to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Ensure all testing deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and adhere to high-quality standards.
Testing Methods and Procedures
Create, refine, and oversee front-door tools and processes to streamline testing operations.
Implement and manage defect management tools, reporting systems, and traceability processes using industry best practices.
Evolve and document Solution Assurance lifecycle practices, including maintaining robust communication and providing training for continuous improvement.
Collaboration and Communication
Drive continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and team capabilities to enhance quality and efficiency.
Facilitate cross-team synchronization meetings, such as Scrum of Scrums and ART Sync, to maintain alignment across all stakeholders.
Effectively communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, ensuring clarity in requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
Proactively identify and resolve issues, promoting a culture of transparency and collaboration.
Skills and Qualifications
Exceptional communication skills, with experience using Microsoft applications (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Experience with Power BI and Tableau is a plus.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
Proficiency with testing tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), JIRA, TestRail, Postman, Selenium, or similar.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in software testing and/or QA.
3+ years of experience in project management, preferably in a QA or testing environment.
Our Lead Testing Proj/Prog Engineer earns between $130,700 - $196,100 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
