The Role: Global Trade Integrity & Compliance Specialist / Sr. Specialist (APAC)  

 

Our site in Shanghai, China (primary), with potential placement in Penang/Kulim, Malaysia or Hsinchu, Taiwan is seeking a highly motivated [Global Trade Integrity & Compliance Specialist/Sr. Specialist (APAC)] to join our team. 

This role reports to the Associate General Counsel, Trade Compliance, with a dotted line to the Senior Manager, Trade Compliance, Asia, and will allocate approximately 75% of its time to Trade Compliance (export controls, imports, program monitoring, diversionprevention) and 25% to Ethics & Compliance supporting antibribery compliance (ABC) and thirdparty risk assurance.  The successful candidate will execute a riskbased monitoring and verification plan across APAC to ensure our trade compliance program operates effectively, identify and mitigate risks of unauthorized product diversion, and our thirdparty engagements meet FCPA/ABC expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to partner handson with Sales, Operations, Logistics, Gov’t Relations, Legal, and site teams. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

 

 (75% Trade Compliance) 

  • Develop risk-based and sustainable audit plans to provide independent assurance on our trade compliance program effectiveness.  

  • Conduct quarterly self-assessments of the Trade Compliance program covering export controls, sanctions, imports and FTA, HTS/ECCN classification, SAP GTS), document results, track Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and report trends and risk insights 

  • Perform diversion prevention reviews, including end use and end user verification, ownership verification, monitoring for unusual patterns, evaluating red flags, and escalating high risk screening results 

  • Evaluate the operating effectiveness of SAP GTS controls, including screening and license determination, system control blocks, and record keeping and audit-readiness requirements 

  • Sample import/export transactions for classification, origin, valuation, and FTA eligibility and drive corrective actions  

  • Conduct periodic sampling and testing of transactions to evaluate compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and controls, identifying noncompliance and opportunities to strengthen the control environment 

  • Support internal/external audits, regulatory inquiries, and continuous improvement and maintain metrics  

  • Monitor regulatory developments across APAC and support updates to processes and controls as needed. 

  • Assist in the conduct of trade or compliance investigations and support special projects as directed by management  

 

 (25% Ethics & Compliance – ABC) 

  • Conduct risk based third party verification and ongoing monitoring (documentation review, red flag analysis, ongoing monitoring) in line with FCPA and other applicable antibribery laws  

  • Assist colleagues with navigating the company’s third party diligence process 

  • Monitor and manage the company’s compliance mailbox in line with escalation rules 

  • Perform targeted ABC assessments to confirm policy adherence 

  • Partner with the Principal, Ethics & Compliance Programs (Asia) to track remediation, maintain risk registers, and report status to the VP, Associate General Counsel, Compliance 

  • Support training and awareness initiatives across Trade and ABC, focusing on APAC risks, red flags, and lessons learned.  

  • Assist in ABC related investigations and contribute to cross functional compliance projects as assigned 

What We Seek: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Law, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or Audit, or related field 

  • 3-year minimum experience in audit or trade compliance (APAC experience strongly preferred) 

  • Working knowledge of export controls and sanctions (e.g., US EAR, China MOFCOM, Taiwan SHTC, Korea MOCIE, Japan METI, Malaysia STA, Singapore SGCA), import/Customs, HTS/ECCN, and restrictedparty screening; familiarity with SAP GTS or similar tools. 

  • Experience conducting monitoring, testing, or internal assessments of compliance programs  

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills; ability to synthesize findings into clear reports and drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) with crossfunctional teams 

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (reading and spoken mandatory) 

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently across time zones and collaborate with global stakeholders. 

  • Availability to attend meetings during US business hours  

  

Outstanding Candidates Will Have: 

  • Additional proficiency in Japanese or Korean  

  • Audit experience at a Big 4 firm or other reputable audit firm, including experience with structured audit methodologies, sampling/testing, and rootcause analysis 

  • Experience supporting thirdparty due diligence, ABC reviews, or internal investigations. 

  • Professional certifications such as CGBP, CECC/CECP, CFE, CAMS, or audit/compliance certifications.
