Lead Solution Architect

We are seeking a Lead Solution Architect within Digital Platforms to design and deliver scalable solutions for consumer-facing products across omni‑channels. This role is centered on end‑to‑end solution architecture, applying a range of architectural tools and technologies—including AI and generative AI where necessary to meet business and experience needs.

The architect will leverage enterprise AI platforms, services, and governance frameworks as needed to embed AI into digital solutions. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, UX, Enterprise AI, and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver solutions that are reusable, secure, and production‑ready

Key Responsibilities

  • Design scalable, reusable, and modular solution architectures that can be adopted across multiple products and business domains.
  • Apply a range of architectural tools and technologies—including AI and generative AI where appropriate—to meet business, experience, and operational needs.
  • Define system interactions, service boundaries, data flows, and integration patterns across the digital ecosystem.
  • Promote reuse of platform capabilities and reference architectures to reduce duplication and increase delivery velocity.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, and production‑ready from day one.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, platform architecture, or software architecture
  • Proven experience designing and delivering scalable digital platform solutions in production environments
  • Hands-on experience applying AI or generative AI within enterprise digital solutions
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Distributed systems and integration patterns
    • API‑driven and service‑oriented architectures
    • LLMs, generative AI concepts, and common enterprise AI patterns (e.g., RAG, orchestration)
  • Experience working in cross‑functional environments with product, engineering, UX, and platform teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries
  • Experience building platform-oriented AI solutions that integrate into large-scale digital ecosystems
  • Proven ability to collaborate across product, engineering, platform, and enterprise architecture teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries
  • Prior experience designing reusable platform capabilities consumed by multiple products or teams
  • Prior work delivering AI capabilities embedded into digital platforms, rather than standalone applications

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$142,300 - $195,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
