About the Role
We are seeking a UI/UX Lead to establish and govern a scalable UI/UX foundation across our enterprise products. This role will lead the creation and adoption of a shared component library and design system, working closely with the HCD team to ensure consistent, accessible, and high-quality experiences. You will also create template GitHub repositories and reference implementations that internal teams and vendors can extend, enabling rapid delivery without compromising standards.
Key Responsibilities
Co-Own the UI platform strategy, including the company’s design system, component library, and UI standards.
Partner with the HCD team to translate experience principles into design tokens, components, and interaction patterns.
Govern designtocode workflows using tools such as Figma and component documentation platforms (e.g., Storybook).
Define and maintain UI playbooks, usage guidelines, and contribution standards for internal teams and vendors.
Build and manage template GitHub repositories that integrate approved components, layouts, and design patterns.
Establish governance processes including design reviews, UI audits, and quality gates.
Ensure accessibility, usability, and visual consistency across all vendordelivered UI.
Drive adoption and correct usage of the component library through documentation, examples, and enablement.
Review vendor and internal deliverables for alignment with design system and HCD intent.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in UI engineering, frontend platform, or design system development.
Proven experience building and governing a component library and/or design system used across multiple applications.
Strong handson experience with modern frontend framework React.
Strong experience collaborating with design teams using Figma (or equivalent) as the source of design truth.
Handson experience with component documentation tools such as Storybook or similar.
Strong understanding of design tokens, theming, component APIs, and versioning.
Experience creating engineering playbooks, UI guidelines, or standards documentation.
Experience creating and maintaining template or starter repositories for scalable development.
Strong knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and UI quality best practices.
Strong collaboration experience working with design/HCD teams, backend engineers, and QA.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to Vaadin (Java framework) or willingness to learn its UX.
Experience operating a UI governance or contribution model (RFCs, approvals, release processes).
Familiarity with monorepos, package publishing, and semantic versioning.
Experience supporting vendorbased development models.
Knowledge of microfrontend architectures or multiapplication UI ecosystems.
Exposure to enterprise authentication patterns (SSO, OAuth2, OIDC) from a UI perspective.
Experience with frontend performance optimization and observability.
Familiarity with frontend build tools, linting, automated testing, and accessibility tooling.
Experience working in enterprise or platformfocused environments.
