About this role:
- Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Pega 8+, ideally Pega 24.x.
- Preferably a Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) OR should be a Pega Certified Senior System Architect (SSA) to enhance and support a Pega‑based Workflow‑as‑a‑Service (WaaS) platform built on Pega 24.1.3. The role focuses on building scalable workflows, modern REST APIs, secure integrations, and cloud‑ready components backed by Oracle, PostgreSQL, and event‑driven patterns.
- Strong understanding of Pega case management, integrations, and rules design.
- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT tokens, and secure API design.
- Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL data models and tuning.
- Practical use of Admin Studio for queue processors, job schedulers, background processes, and system operations.
- Exposure to Kafka, async patterns, and high-volume processing models.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Pega, REST services, databases, and background processing.
Job Expectation:
- Design workflow solutions using Case Types, stages, Data Pages, Data Transforms, and Activities.
- Build and maintain Service REST and Connect REST APIs using JSON, versioning, and modern error handling.
- Implement API security using OAuth 2.0 / JWT for authentication and authorization.
- Integrate with Oracle and PostgreSQL for workflow, reference, and analytics data.
- Use Admin Studio for operational monitoring: queue processors, background processing, node health, and system operations.
- Configure and optimize Queue Processors, Job Schedulers, and Bulk Processing patterns for high‑volume data operations.
- Leverage Kafka knowledge for event or message-driven workflows where required.
- Design cloud‑ready components: stateless patterns, externalized configs, minimal custom code, guardrail-compliant rule sets.
- Support debugging, performance tuning, and production operations across workflows, integrations, and data layers.
