Overview
As a Product Manager – Workday Security at Mastercard, you will play a critical role in defining, managing, and safeguarding our Workday platform. You will partner closely with HR, Technology, Security, and business leaders to ensure Workday configurations, integrations, and processes adhere to Mastercard’s security, privacy, and compliance standards. Your role is central to ensuring that Workday capabilities align with business needs while maintaining the highest standards of data protection and operational integrity.
You will develop a deep understanding of current and future HR processes, security requirements, and risk considerations, using this knowledge to define secure product roadmaps and targeted business outcomes that align with Enterprise Technology and Enterprise Security strategies.
This position partners with HR business leaders to build both short and long term roadmaps that support secure and scalable HR operational plans.

Role Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Security
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Workday platform, with accountability for ensuring secure configuration, role based access, and data protection controls.
• Own the product lifecycle—from inception through delivery—ensuring Workday capabilities align with business needs while meeting security and compliance requirements.
• Ensure Workday applications meet or exceed Mastercard’s standards for data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance, including SOX, GDPR, and internal policies.
Strategy & Collaboration
• Understand HR business drivers and capabilities (current and future) and define corresponding outcomes aligned with Enterprise Technology and Enterprise Security strategies.
• Partner with HR, IT, Security, and business teams to gather requirements and translate them into product plans that incorporate security first design principles.
• Drive secure design, development, testing, and deployment of Workday features in partnership with development and security engineering teams.
Security Controls & Compliance
• Oversee Workday role based access controls (RBAC), security groups, segregation of duties (SoD) analysis, and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Information Security on risk assessments, vulnerability remediation, and security policy adherence.
• Ensure rigorous quality assurance and testing procedures—including verification of security controls—prior to deployment.
Continuous Improvement & Governance
• Monitor new Workday security features and assess applicability to Mastercard’s environment.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and communicate secure product roadmaps, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
• Develop training and support materials to help end users understand Workday functionality and follow proper security protocols.
• Utilize Workday reporting and analytics to provide insights into workforce trends, operational performance, and security posture.
Technology & Business Impact
• Identify organizational and financial impacts of security related technology decisions, partnering with HR and Security leadership to plan and prioritize investments.
• Stay current on technology trends, Workday innovations, and evolving security practices to support the HR operating model.

Experience & Skills
• Proven experience as a Product Manager supporting Workday, with strong knowledge of Workday security configuration, access models, and compliance requirements.
• Deep knowledge of Workday HCM modules and associated security frameworks.
• Experience using metrics, KPIs, and reporting tools to measure and improve product performance and security posture.
• Strong experience documenting secure business processes, configuration scripts, and workflows.
• Technical and business acumen; ability to translate business requirements into secure system design.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, HR partners, and functional leaders.
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels of leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, security sensitive projects.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Adaptable and able to respond to changing business and security priorities.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience with other HRIS platforms (PeopleSoft, SAP) is a plus.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges
O'Fallon, Missouri: $130,000 - $221,000 USD
