Lead Product Manager

Office - San Diego, CA Full time

Lytx has an immediate opportunity for a Lead Device Product Manager, reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Management.  The safety product manager will be responsible for the new software features in the Lytx system to identify new sources of risk and make it actionable.   This product manager will apply a deep understanding of markets, customers and competition to guide the evolution of our safety offering - working in conjunction with Lytx R&D, client services staff and the product marketing team.

You’ll Get To:

  • Analyze market segments, customer needs, competition and key industry trends. Seek out and incorporate input from customers, client services and other customer-facing teams. 
  • Work with strategic leaders to define and create a safety solution strategy and longer-term product roadmap for your assigned product area.
  • Propose and define key new capabilities and functionality which provide strong customer value, competitive advantage and long-term profitability. 
  • Develop business cases and market requirements for key new capabilities, including business objectives, “how we win” and competitive differentiators, product positioning, performance expectations, financials and timeline. 
  • Work with product development teams to develop new functionality, ensuring throughout the development cycle that the product provides strong value for target customers, generates competitive advantage and offers revenue and profit growth opportunities for the company.
  • Set the strategy and roadmap for your assigned product area, including a product vision for the investments you are advocating.
  • Work together with the product marketing team to ensure impactful market launches. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need:

  • 7+ years of Product Management work experience, spanning both new product development and management of in-market products 
  • Proven success using AI tools to increase impact and reduce time to market
  • Project Management Experience
  • Familiarity working in an Agile/SCRUM development environment.
  • Proven track record of working with engineering teams to develop successful product offerings. 
  • Experience with Telematics products is an advantage
  • Independency and ‘can do’ approach
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills 
  • Winning mindset with ability to rally teams toward a goal
  • Strong customer focus and market analysis skills 
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, MBA degree preferred 
  • Ability to travel 10-20%

Salary is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  This position is also eligible for an incentive compensation plan.  The expected hiring salary for this position is:

$162,250.00 - $204,750.00
