The Lead Proctor will be responsible for facilitating the testing of nursing students in a computer lab environment. The proctor will be responsible for identification, admission, seating, and monitoring of examinees according to guidelines. In addition, the proctor will prepare testing materials and exam rooms prior to examinees' arrival and monitor the conduct of examinees during the testing periods.

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain computer testing room(s).

  • Prepare room in advance of scheduled exams.

  • Monitor computers; assure operational status; troubleshoot common problems.

  • Restore testing area to its previous arrangement prior to exiting following exams.

  • Apply technical knowledge and skills for problem solving, trouble shooting and continuous improvement of process and procedures. 

  • Develop exam schedule in conjunction with the testing center manager.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all student disability information and accommodation details.

  • Collaborates with faculty and academic team(s) to schedule student makeup exams.

  • Analyzes and evaluates testing center attendance for testing site to help determine best testing schedule.

  • Validate appropriate identification as necessary for admission to exam.

  • Help students log in to necessary exam.

  • Troubleshoot testing issues as necessary.

  • Monitor exam process and progress.

  • Enforce all rules and regulations as necessary.

  • Follow established protocol for integrity breaches.

  • Ensure all testers receive the appropriate testing accommodations as instructed based on a student’s official accommodation letter ensuring all procedures are followed prior to and during the exam administration.

  • Document and report any issues or deviations from the approved accommodation plan.

  • Coordinates with college partner’s accommodations department/team to ensure student information is appropriately documented and student needs are met while in the Testing Centers.

  • Maintain and update knowledge of current operating technology.

  • Monitor and resolve issues of testing center support email.

  • Perform various tasks, assignments, and projects as directed by testing center manager.

  • Maintain and manage individual and group scheduling and calendars for proctors.

  • Perform inventory control and purchase supplies and equipment for site.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for students, faculty, and proctor staff, resolving issues promptly and professionally.

  • Generate daily reports, incident logs, and performance metrics for management review.

  • Responsible for the monitoring, data collection and resolution of any issues that arise in the testing center, i.e., student concerns, equipment issues, academic integrity concerns.

  • Tracks student testing anomalies reported by Proctors in both in-person and online. testing environments. Reports to Testing Center Manager.

  • Communicates and educates testing policy and procedures to proctors, students, and faculty and staff. Leads testing center initiatives.

  • Represents Testing Center at campus student events, i.e. orientation.

  • Coordinates proctor schedule coverage throughout the semester.

  • Ensures accurate testing center information from schedules to policies and procedures are followed.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of test files and data, and practice strong security. procedures in relation to records following FERPA guidelines.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Have:

  • Experience: Experience in a higher education environment is strongly preferred, but not required, Experience with Learning Management (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) is strongly preferred, but not required. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows applications, internet and email

  • Teamwork: Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills; positive attitude required. Holds high degree of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
