The PLC Software Developer/Engineer will develop and support cutting edge software enabled products for customers in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. The holder of this position will gather requirements, prototype, design, develop, build, unit-test, document, including test and functional documentation, and package. The goal is to work closely with product management to define and shape the products.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks:
Collaborate with product managers, product owner, service, engineer field application engineer, and internal development teams to gather, analyze, and define requirements for advanced software functionalities, bug fixing and software update/upgrade throughout the software lifecycle.
Innovate and develop sustainable software systems using prototyping, precise software design, and active participation in design reviews, while focusing on reengineering and software migration strategies.
Craft clean, maintainable, and high-quality code with a focus on optimizing performance and memory efficiency.
Conduct thorough unit testing to ensure code reliability and functionality, developing all necessary documentation to support testing and implementation processes.
Implement cutting-edge automated testing solutions at unit and nightly regression levels to enhance software reliability.
Ensure seamless software and hardware system integration and functionality through thorough validation processes.
Support technical support and development teams with expert guidance and problem-solving assistance, contributing to continuous improvement and adaptation in software projects.
Qualification & Skills:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electronics or equivalent, with substantial professional experience.
Technical Expertise: 7+ years of project experience using Siemens TIA Portal/step7 for programming, with proficiency in Structured Control Language (SCL).
Siemens Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Siemens 1500 series PLC models and simulation software.
SCADA Experience: Proven experience in interfacing PLC systems with SCADA systems.
Lifecycle Management: Familiarity with lifecycle management tools like Polarion is preferred.
Versioning Tools: Knowledge of versioning tools such as SVN is advantageous.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential.
Additional Skills:
Programming Languages: Experience in software development using Java, C++, C#, .NET is beneficial.
TIA Portal Integration: Knowledge of interfacing TIA Portal with .NET tools via TIA Openness is advantageous.
