Lead MRI Technologist (Full Time / Days)

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist works with Medical Imaging leadership and department medical director to develop operating policies and procedures.  Performs diagnostic and interventional exams and procedures within established guidelines.  The MRI technologist serves as a role model and resource within the department. 

Lead MRI Technologist duties:

  • Be a liaison between the department leadership and staff
  • Model the hospital/departments mission, vision, goals, and initiatives
  • Prepares the staffing schedules and posts them in a timely manner
  • Maintains oversight of patient exam scheduling and coordination with ED and inpatients, coordinates room and staff assignments
  • Maintains oversight of ordering and stocking of supplies on a regular basis
  • Reviews and approves subordinate time record in electronic payroll system for accuracy as requested
  • Participates in budgetary preparation (staff, equipment, space, expenses, etc.)
  • Participates in hiring, coaching/corrective action process, and termination process as requested
  • Provides feedback in the staff performance appraisal process

Qualifications:

  • AA/BA/BS degree through an accredited Radiology program required or has satisfactorily completed a formal military or hospital-based radiology technologist training program.
  • Must facilitate the direct mailing of an official transcript verifying the successful completion of all courses necessary to satisfy the Structured Education requirements established by the ARRT for post primary pathway certification in MRI.  This requirement is waived if candidate has already obtained the ARRT(MR) advanced registry.
  • Washington State certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and ARRT (R)(MR) required upon hire.  Biannual renewal of RT state license required by DOH and Overlake Hospital, with evidence of same by primary source verification.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a medical imaging technologist preferred.  Previous hospital experience preferred. 
  • For Lead position, a minimum of six months previous leadership experience preferred.
