Position Purpose
As a Team Leader for Medical Assistants in Saint Mary's Occupational Health office, you will provide clinical and clerical support to the unit including, but not limited to, phlebotomy, EKG''s, obtaining specimens & various testing. Heavy clerical duties involving patient registration, discharge planning, scheduling referrals, chart management, and phone contact. Some supervision and oversight of other Medical Assistant(s) in the office.
What you will do
In this critical role you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, play an active part in unit shared decision making, and enjoy practice autonomy using nurse driven protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Board certified in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant
Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency in keyboarding, transcription, record-keeping, and insurance processing
Thorough understanding of medical terminology
One years’ experience in office/hospital setting involving phlebotomy and direct patient care
Work Schedule:
Full time 40hrs M-F days
