Join the Target Plus team as a Lead Marketplace Governance & Compliance Analyst, where you'll lead strategic governance efforts that ensure Target Plus operates as a compliant, safe, and trusted marketplace. This role sits at the intersection of regulatory expertise, operational execution, and seller integrity, ensuring that Target’s marketplace meets regulatory obligations while upholding Target’s brand, values, and guest trust.

As a subject matter expert, you’ll lead regulatory monitoring, policy enforcement, and cross-functional alignment to proactively manage risk and improve seller and assortment governance. You will partner with Legal, Compliance, Product Safety, Partner Services, and multiple operational teams to guide                   processes and make data-backed decisions that drive marketplace integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operational liaison with Legal and Compliance to interpret and operationalize evolving federal, state, and international regulations (e.g., INFORM Act, labeling requirements, product bans).
  • Maintain marketplace readiness for future regulatory changes, including rule implementation and reporting structures.
  • Drive audit readiness, reporting, and compliance program maturity.
  • Lead item-level risk oversight (e.g., hazardous materials, age-restricted products, regional restrictions).
  • Develop and manage listing policies, item vetting SOPs, and policy enforcement strategies.
  • Collaborate with Category Managers and Merchants to uphold assortment standards and curation guidelines.
  • Lead issue management and resolution for rules, bans, standards and regulations which impact Target Plus. Ensure stakeholders are informed and aligned on resolution by answering questions, proactively addressing user needs, and recommending changes to business processes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in compliance, regulatory operations, governance, or risk management
  • Marketplace or e-commerce platform experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory environments (e.g., CPSC, INFORM Act, FTC guidelines)
  • Proven ability to translate policy into operational frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills
  • Comfort with data tools (e.g., Excel, Domo, PowerBI) for reporting and decision-making

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
