Responsibilities:

  • Operate in a safe, efficient manner with strict adherence to safety policies.

  • Identify and address unsafe conditions or habits within authority scope; report other unsafe practices to supervisor, EHS leadership and/or management.

  • Promote total quality culture and strive for continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.

  • Complete all required SOP/WI training on-time and work with colleagues to ensure their training is completed on-time.

  • Audit operations and products for accuracy and quality routinely.

  • Participate in and lead Tier 1 meetings.

  • Conduct initial root cause investigation on quality discrepancies and safety incidents.

  • Prioritize work and personnel to meet production schedules and customer satisfaction.

  • Review daily labor reports for completeness and accuracy; maintain necessary records.

  • Keep the work area neat, clean, and orderly, ensuring inventory control.

  • Communicate effectively with internal customers and shift counterparts.

  • Train new employees on safety habits, quality standards, and continuous improvement philosophy.

  • Perform duties of other employees in case of absence, emergency, or as requested by supervision.

  • Serve as backup for supervisor when needed.

  • May require handling hazardous waste. 

  • May be assigned other miscellaneous duties (including training) by department supervision/leadership. Must perform all essential functions of the position as identified on the applicable Employer Job Description maintained in the Occupational Health Office. 

Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience required

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Basic knowledge of machinery.

  • Ability to use mechanical tools and measuring devices.

  • Tactful and diplomatic with strong leadership abilities.

  • Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials and blueprints.

  • Vocational training preferred.

  • Experience in training employees.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $24.32–$36.49.
