POSITION SUMMARY
Entegris is seeking a Global Lab Quality Engineer to oversee quality aspects of Materials Solutions QC labs with a focus on slurries and slurry related products. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring MS QC labs are following Entegris Quality and good laboratory practices. This position can be either US (Aurora) or Asia Pacific (Korea, Taiwan) based.
In this role you will:
The Lab Quality Engineer’s role is to implement methods across Materials Solution QC labs. The role is a cross functional role that requires interactions with all levels of the organization including customers and suppliers. This role requires an individual that has a strong quality mindset, is internally motivated, can work independently and can navigate a constantly changing and sometime ambiguous landscape.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with MS QC labs to ensure methods (POR and new) adhere to our best-known methods.
Review new method plans and results to ensure all parameters are passing.
When needed transfer methods from existing factories to new ones and train chemists as needed with the goal of reducing changes made from site to site.
Support planning process for QC labs in new factories.
Support BU and CQEs with data packages needed for new products, PCNs, AMLC etc.
Be voice of the lab with regard to data that is shared with customers.
Assist labs in implementing controls that will improve and reduce trouble shooting efforts.
Develop training for labs on quality assurance practices regarding data analysis and interpretation.
Facilitate end-user training and provide on-going support.
Audit and Evaluate Lab methods for consistency and best-known methodology.
Improve laboratory consistency and quality ISO compliance by creating and revising laboratory policies and procedures.
Ensure Quality CAPA’s are shared and implemented across the division.
Support audits (internal and external) as needed.
Support ISO-17025 program at labs that hold this accreditation and implement where business requires.
Work closely with our QC lab managers and chemists, Customer Quality, Material Quality and Quality Systems personnel as well as with our customers both internal and external.
Enable quality initiatives as they relate to the customer, corporate objectives, quality planning, the quality policy, process improvement and new business goals and objectives.
Traits:
Bachelor of Science in chemistry, physics or engineering or related field required, M.S. or Ph.D. preferred;
Solid knowledge of analytical chemistry, materials science & physics, and familiarity with semiconductor device materials, structures, and metrology.
Knowledge of lab instruments (HPLC, IC, GC, ICP-MS, ICP-AES, AFM, SEM/FIB, FTIR, Particle Characterization, Accusizer, FXNano) operations and data analysis required.
Good working Knowledge of ISO 17025, and 90001 standards.
Familiarity with Good Lab Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
Proficient in data analysis, statistical methods and quality management systems.
Knowledge of proper controls for analytical instrumentation, SPC, stability, accuracy, variation, and method uncertainty, GR&R and correlation and matching.
Understands customer quality requirements and expectations and works to meet those goals.
Hands on experience with applicable quality tools such as pareto, FMEA’s, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving methodology.
Prior experience managing laboratory services in a chemical / gas manufacturing environment preferred. Familiar with handling corrosives and air-sensitive chemistries (liquid and solid materials) in support of three major product lines (Deposition, Cleans and CMP).
Ability to wear the required PPE when working in the labs (safety glasses, face shields, lab coat, steel toe boots, etc.)
Knowledge of software systems used in analytical laboratories preferred (LIMS, chromatography software, JMP etc.)
Prior experience managing people and working w/ global teams.
Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Strong English speaker
Strong project management skills, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills are required.
Flexibility and self-initiative required to support several simultaneous projects.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to travel up to 25%, some international.
This role requires calls outside of typical business hours.
