Quality Governance Manager

Job Description

The Quality Governance Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent implementation of quality standards, testing frameworks, and governance processes across delivery teams. The role oversees compliance with QA policies, monitors quality performance metrics, and supports delivery teams in maintaining high standards of software quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Quality Governance Implementation: 

  • Implement quality governance framework across projects and teams

  • Ensure adherence to QA standards, testing methodologies, and quality policies

Quality Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track key quality KPIs such as defect leakage, test coverage, automation adoption, and test execution effectiveness.

  • Maintain quality dashboards and periodic governance reports.

  • Escalate quality risks to leadership when thresholds are not met.

Governance Reviews & Audits:

  • Conduct periodic QA governance reviews across projects.

  • Identify process gaps and recommend corrective actions.

  • Track  remediation actions to ensure continuous  improvement.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Quality Engineering, Delivery, Product, and Biz teams to address quality concerns

  • Provide guidance on governance standards and best practices

  • Participate in release readiness and quality gate reviews

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes and tooling.

  • Promote adoption of Test Automation and Quality Engineering practices.

  • People Engagement & Development (Collab Index & Competency Uplift)

  • Compliance to QA governance standards 

  • Reduction in production defect leakage

  • Improvement in test coverage & automation adoption

  • Timely identification, escalation & resolution of quality risks

SKILLS

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, QA methodologies, and testing types

  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Jira, Xray)

  • Understanding of test automation concepts and CI/CD pipeline integration

  • Familiarity with the telecommunications business domain, its processes, IT systems/technologies, operations, industry competitors and market trends

Functional Skills

  • QA governance and compliance monitoring

  • Quality metrics analysis and reporting

  • Risk management and escalation

  • Governance documentation and reporting

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

Work Experience:

  • Preferably 5 to 10  years of demonstrated experience working in the same field  (Software Testing or QA)

  • 2–4 years experience in QA Governance, QA Leadership, or Test Management

  • Knowledge and exposure to different IT Solutions and Telco Industry

  • Certifications preferred (ISTQB, Agile Testing)


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field
