Your Team & Role

As a Lead, Infrastructure Developer on the AI Platform Team, you will partner with product owners, tech leads, platform engineers, data engineers, security teams, and delivery professionals to improve AI Platforms. including enterprise AI and intelligent platforms. You will design, build, and operate cloud‑native infrastructure and automation that powers AI runtimes, model services, data pipelines, agent orchestration, and other platform capabilities.

In addition to advanced technical expertise, you will be a hands‑on leader who accelerates platform evolution through infrastructure as code, automation, deep technical problem solving, and mentoring engineers. You will uphold strong standards for security, reliability, scalability, and compliance while enabling teams to deliver AI‑driven solutions at enterprise scale.

This role is based in our office in Newark, NJ. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. This position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis at least 3 days per week.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • Create, code, and support solutions to automate the creation, management, and destruction of cloud‑native infrastructure; remove complex technical impediments across environments and pipelines
  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure that supports AI platform workloads, model endpoints, data systems, and shared platform services
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions to manage provisioning, configuration, scaling, and lifecycle management of environments
  • Build and maintain automated pipelines, APIs, tooling, and frameworks that enable self‑service consumption and a seamless developer experience
  • Accelerate application and platform development by building standardized, resilient infrastructure patterns that align with Prudential standards
  • Collaborate with product owners to understand needs and define feature stories, and with tech leads and engineers to define technical designs and deliver end‑to‑end solutions
  • Ensure infrastructure is optimized for high‑performance compute, GPU and accelerator workloads, large‑scale parallel services, and real‑time inference
  • Implement infrastructure foundations that support AI agent runtimes, orchestration layers, memory systems, and intelligent services
  • Develop corporate platform and infrastructure standards based on cost, capability, scalability, resiliency, and capacity requirements; document solutions to support adoption
  • Implement and enforce infrastructure‑level security controls, identity models, network standards, and compliance frameworks using DevSecOps best practices
  • Deliver operational excellence through monitoring, observability, health checks, alerting, and automated recovery patterns
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex reliability, performance, and scalability issues across cloud environments
  • Conduct infrastructure and design reviews, provide deep technical guidance, and coach engineers on cloud architecture and platform engineering best practices
  • Bring a strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, influence infrastructure strategy, and embed learning and innovation into day‑to‑day work
  • Apply infrastructure fundamentals across Linux/Unix operating systems, databases, networking, TCP/IP, and distributed systems

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Significant experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or cloud engineering roles
  • Applied programming experience using Python and/or nodeJS, Shell/Power scripting
  • Advanced hands‑on expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. AWS Agent Core Preferred
  • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, ARM, and Helm
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and observability tooling
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, security, resiliency, and performance engineering
  • Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure, GPU environments, inference‑grade cloud services, or data‑intensive platforms is strongly preferred
  • Ability to lead technical initiatives, conduct design reviews, and mentor engineers with minimal guidance
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test‑Driven Development (TDD)
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across teams
  • Ability to continuously learn new technologies and apply them pragmatically to complex business problems

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $133,600.00 to $220,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
