Job Summary: Join the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Shared Service Center! We're looking for talented professionals to help deliver solutions that support federal agencies nationwide. As a Lead HR Specialist, GS-0201-12, you will be part of OPM's Federal Talent Management Center. If selected, you will lead a team delivering expert HR support by processing personnel actions, maintaining employee records, advising on policies, and ensuring accurate, timely HR services across federal agencies.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: For the GS12: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service (or equivalent) performing ALL of the following: Leading or coordinating the work of HR staff engaged in personnel processing or records management activities; AND Reviewing and processing complex federal personnel actions using HR systems by applying formalized guidance such as the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions (GPPA); AND Reviewing and maintaining official personnel records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation; AND Advising management, HR Staff, and employees on HR policies, recruitment/placement, pay administration, or benefits impacts; AND Identifying and resolving discrepancies in HR personnel records while coordinating with payroll, benefits, and other HR functional areas to ensure data accuracy and continuity. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
