The Lead of the Guided & Relationship Banking Team within The Remote Advice Team is one of the key people responsible for making this strategic priority into a reality. ING Business Banking in The Netherlands and the Guided & Relationship Banking team

In The Netherlands, ING is leader in business banking. It serves at least a third of the market, which translates into almost €1,5 billion in revenue and €37 billion in outstanding loans. The purpose of the Guided & Relationship Banking Sales Team is to provide SME & MidCorp Business Clients with personal advice to help them achieve their goals. This team will support applications initiated via Business Advisors (Guided Service Model) and Relationship Managers (Relationship Service Model).

Your role

As the Lead of the Guided & Relationship Banking you passionately lead the business advisors. Your objective is to make the team realize its ambitious commercial objectives. In addition, you play a key role in the planning and execution of our efforts regarding the further development of the Guided & Relationship Banking Sales team and the growth ambitions that ING has in the business segment. Next to this you are responsible for the training and development of the business advisors in the team as to make the team a source of talent for our broader organization. Finally, as a foreman, you also contribute independently to the realization of commercial objectives of the remote advice team.

What are you responsible for?

  • You are a commercial leader. Both internally and externally you are a figurehead that motivates and inspires our advisors;
  • You are a sparring partner for the advisors, actively coaching and strengthening their level of professional competence;
  • You take ownership of the commercial and operational objectives of the team;
  • You facilitate optimal collaboration between the Guided & Relationship Banking team, the Intermediary Team, and the Easy Banking team and take an exemplary role in this yourself;
  • You are co-responsible for the E2E performance of our business and ensure good collaboration and relations with other departments in our organisation (e.g. operations, risk, IT);
  • In addition to the role of manager, you are also responsible for writing credit applications and you therefore also receive a commercial objective.
  • You report to the Lead RAST Lending and are part of the RAST Lending lead team of Guided & Relationship Banking Sales and actively support the other leads and the Head of Guided & Relationship Banking Sales to achieve our broader objectives.

Who are you?

  • You have a Master’s degree & equivalent experience;
  • This role requires command of the Dutch language at a fluent level;
  • 5+ years of experience in sales with a demonstrable experience in Business Banking and specifically business lending;
  • 3+ years of experience in leading, managing and developing professionals;
  • You are a passionate commercial professional with the characteristics of a sales manager;
  • You have a background in Business Banking and have a good understanding of both the digital and human service models. It is important that you are experienced in managing a sales team and can enthuse and inspire your colleagues.
  • You need to be able to think, work and present yourself in a structured way and have a can-do mindset.
  • You have an interest in the trends and innovations in our business and are aware of the developments in our market and the broader economy.
  • Moreover, you can translate these into your work environment in a meaningful way. You are a team player, helping your colleagues to be successful, but also speak up when needed.
