Job Title : Lead Engineer Layout
Division: Ensci, Weir Minerals
Location: Bengaluru
Purpose of Role:
To support BU Engineering across the division in the areas of Layout engineering on Comminution and other mineral processing systems. The job involves developing Skids & test plants for new technologies in wet processing & comminution domain.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure that the company’s IP policies are adhered to at all times
Develop Test skids & modular plants for comminution, mineral processing, sand washing or other similar layouts.
Develop Prebid & detailed layout designs for comminution, mineral processing, sand washing or other similar layouts.
Design the layout in compliance with the contract specific requirements
Review the process flowsheet & Liase with process engineers and propose process improvements
Develop criteria for mechanical/Layout design
Evaluate existing designs & propose design alternatives & optimization.
Participate in HAZOP & Risk Assessment studies
Conduct feasibility studies, determines cost & manpower estimates
Collaborate with process engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the layout meets all technical and safety requirements.
Organise multidisciplinary reviews with electrical, structural, process & other stakeholders
Prepare project proposals & budgetary estimates for quotation
Lead the team in technical discussions with Customers & other stakeholders
Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to integrate their inputs into the overall plant design.
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Implement productivity improvement solutions within the team
Organise technical audits, Trainings & implement Engineering best practices within the team.
Identify and resolve layout-related issues during the design and construction phases.
Optimize plant layout to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
Maintain accurate records of all layout designs and modifications.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for project stakeholders
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Education and Qualifications:
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
More than 10 years of relevant experience in executing medium & large sized projects
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experienced in developing Skids & modular plants for mineral processing & comminution products.
Proficient in mineral processing products, latest technologies and familiar with installation, maintenance , & accessibility guidelines
Experienced in reviewing & developing process flowsheets for mineral processing and comminution projects .
Proficient in executing plant retrofit and upgradation projects
Proficient in at least two or more regional codes & standards.
Design in accordance with regional codes & standards with primary focus on safety and ergonomy
Proficient in mineral processing products and familiar with installation, maintenance , & accessibility guidelines
Knowledge of multiple products & systems & Integration of different products
Ability to analyze complex layout requirements and develop efficient designs.
Problem-solving skills to address layout-related issues during design and construction phases.
Strong understanding of process engineering principles and safety standards.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Coordination skills to work with various departments and external contractors..
Understanding of the specific needs and challenges of the process industry
Knowledge of multiple products & systems & Integration of different products
Proficiency in CAD software preferably UGNX (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, UG NX, SketchUp, Tekla)
Exposure to process engineering tools such as JKSIMMET, USIM PAC, AGGFLOW
Exposure to PLM system
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
