The Lead Engineer, Duck Creek Platform & Integration is responsible for the strategic and tactical leadership and support of release and integration disciplines. The role will lead and support Duck Creek development teams and guide the automation of Duck Creek releases and downstream systems integrations. You will be responsible for work prioritization, providing technical solutions to the development team, facilitating scope of allocation for changes and fixes, implementing solutions relating to third-party services, database integrations and data issues, generating reports from databases, validating completeness of requirements, resolving critical application issues and deploying code and configuration changes in non-production and production environments. This role is also responsible for communicating with stakeholders and partners to understand criticality of production issues and address them with priority.

 

Responsibilities

       Lead the Duck Creek implementation of fixes and changes of the Policy Administration System, ensuring that they adhere to the designs, architecture, business requirements and established technical standards.

       Work collaboratively with data teams to determine optimal infrastructure, architecture, and solution design for downstream integrations and enterprise data flows

       Provide technical solutions in building various functionalities for the policy administration system and integrations with other systems

       Implement automation and optimally efficient release and deployment practices and methodologies to ensure seamless deployments and releases across all environments

       Increase efficiency around template upgrade and circular adoption with enhanced processes and improved or novel technical solutions

       Improve system performance and functionality by reducing technical debt

       Partner with other IT leaders to help prioritize efforts capabilities in the roadmap and sprints

       Participate in business requirement gathering sessions, and work with developers to translate outcomes into appropriate technical designs with a focus on business value

       Review and provide feedback on complex technical designs

       Participate in all phases of product life cycle, from inception to production support

       Interact collaboratively with colleagues, both within and across teams, including outside stakeholders to define and present technical options

       Work closely with the Delivery Leads to establish and evolve technical guidelines and standards

        Monitor and analyze production support trends and user needs

        Communicates with underwriters, underwriter assistants, and Product Owners to understand the critical production application issues, and addresses issues to avoid business impact

 

Qualifications

          Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience

          10+ years of Duck Creek experience with focused responsibility for the Policy Administration product, with demonstrated ability to implement technical solutions and optimize delivery frameworks

          Experience with design and architecture reviews

          Proficiency in the following development technologies/frameworks: Duck Creek, Artificial Intelligence, C#, Azure DevOps Release Pipelines, SQL Server, Octopus Deploy, Quartz, ODS Architecture, Informatica, Corporate Record, Regulatory Reporting Feeds (WCPOLs, P&K, CV-ALIR).

          Proficiency with using/integrating 3rd party tools for source control, continuous integration, build, release, testing automation and coverage tracking systems/services

          Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

          Motivated to create meaningful product experiences for users along with a desire to exceed expectations
