We're looking for a talented, highly motivated, and business-oriented Senior Corporate Counsel (India/APJ) to join our Legal team in India. This role provides legal advice and support across Zscaler’s APJ operations, including Japan, Singapore, and Australia. Reporting to the VP, Associate General Counsel - Employment (based in San Jose, US), you'll be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting all India and APJ employment legal matters, while assisting with global employment legal priorities and initiatives from headquarters
  • Partnering with People & Culture and business leaders to provide legal advice on labor and employment matters in India and APJ, and supporting Employee Relations on complaints and investigations
  • Advising Zscaler’s People & Culture team on employment law compliance in India and APJ, addressing areas such as hiring, compensation, benefits, mobility, performance management, terminations, training, and investigations
  • Working independently to identify gaps in employment law and compliance, advising on corrective actions, driving policy development, and updating compliance plans with the People & Culture team based on evolving laws
  • Drafting and reviewing employment policies, supporting People & Culture and Employee Relations through guidance and documentation, and managing disputes, litigation, and regulatory proceedings with the assistance of outside counsel

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Law degree and licensed to practice law in India or a common law jurisdiction
  • 5+ years post-qualified employment law experience gained in private practice and in-house
  • At least 2 years of experience in an in-house role

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with large multinational employers with concentrations of employees in India, Australia, Japan, and Singapore
  • Flexible, highly organized, and team-oriented, with a “can do” attitude and ability to collaborate in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to work with senior management on complex issues & applying business judgment to legal issues to accurately determine risk
