Position Summary
The Lead Director of Sales - Dental & Vision is responsible for leading and executing the growth strategy for the Small Group Dental & Vision protfolio. This role provides strategic direction, operational leadership and performance management for a high-impact sales organization of approximately 10 direct reports.

The Lead Director partners closely with Product, Underwriting, Actuarial, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Small Group Medical Teams to drive membership growth, improve market penetration, and deliver profitable results. This position plays a critical role in advancing enterprise initiatives, strengthening broker and General Agent relationships, and ensuring consistent execution across all sales channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10 Sales Executives to achieve membership, revenue, and profitability targets.
  • Develop and execute multi-year growth strategies for Dental & Vision across Small Group.
  • Drive disciplined sales execution, pipeline management, and performance accountability.
  • Partner with SG Medical, General Agents, and National Broker organizations to expand market presence and optimize channel performance.
  • Collaborate with Product, Actuarial, Finance, and Operations to align pricing, offerings, and sales strategy.
  • Oversee forecasting, reporting, and performance analytics to inform leadership decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal governance standards.
  • Champion company culture, leadership principles, and talent development


Required Qualifications

  • 10 + years of progressive experience in sales leadership, preferably within health insurance, dental or vision benefits.
  • 5+ years of experience leading multi-layered sales teams with direct management responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success driving membership growth, revenue, and operating margin in a highly competitive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of broker , General Agent, and distribution models.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic business plans.
  • Advanced financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, and ROI analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching and change management skills.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in Small Group or dental and vision products.
  • Experience with enterprise quoting, CRM, and sales enablement platforms.
  • Track record of building and scaling high-performing sales teams.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and enterprise leadership
  • Familiarity with CVS Health/Aetna systems and processes.
  • Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$105,000.00 - $231,132.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
