Lead Development Operations Engineer

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our team in Belgrade. This is an amazing opportunity within Clarivate Analytics to support the Brand IP space, including online customer-facing applications and internal applications in a hybrid environment.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in software development, system administration or a closely related area
• 5 + years of experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• 3 + years of experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, EBS, RDS, etc.)

It would be great if you also have . . . 

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Strong experience with TeamCity and GitHub
• Experience with managing containerized environments, especially EKS with strong UNIX / Linux command-line skills
• Ability to write effective shell (bash) and Perl scripts to automate procedures and workflows
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with administration and configuration of Java, Apache, and Tomcat applications
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Datadog and CloudWatch

What will you be doing in this role?

• Supporting, troubleshooting and maintaining build and test environments in cloud and on premises. 
• Partnering with different teams to lead application deployments into production, including refreshed existing applications and new initiatives.
• Maintaining environments by implementing and executing patch management and technology refreshes.
• Collaborating with data center operations and technology teams to resolve tactical infrastructure issues and completing strategic projects. 
• Managing tasks through JIRA and maintaining documentation in Confluence/wiki.

As a Lead DevOps Engineer within Clarivate Analytics you will be supporting the build and deploy processes in the Brand IP space including online customer facing applications as well as internal applications in a hybrid environment for the Trademark business. Clarivate is the market leader in Trademark analysis and offers online and offline solutions to our customers. This requires trademark data retrieval, conversions, handling and loading processes as well as front and backend systems to query the data, report on it and manage the orders

About the Team

Our team is spread across multiple locations worldwide, and in this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the United States, England, Serbia, Belgium, and India. You will report directly to the Senior Manager, Development Operations Engineer.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position, with core engagement hours within the CET time zone. 

This is a hybrid position; you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
