Job Description: Lead, Business Operations & Project Management

About the Role

As the Lead, Business Operations & Project Management, you will play a pivotal role in scaling delivery excellence and operational rigor across Abacus Insights. This hybrid position combines project management leadership with business operations and capacity planning, directly influencing resource utilization, delivery governance, and knowledge management. You will collaborate cross-functionally with PMO, Sales, Delivery, Finance, and Product teams to drive structured, data-driven practices that enhance planning, tracking, and value delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project & Program Management

  • Lead scrum teams as Scrum Master for client delivery projects, facilitating sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Serve as the central coordinator between cross-functional teams, supporting project scoping, planning, and timeline estimation.
  • Monitor and report project progress, risks, and blockers, ensuring timely resolution and transparency.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PMO standards, tools, and delivery frameworks.
  • Mentor team members on Agile best practices and Abacus-specific workflows, fostering a culture of accountability and adaptability.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide additional support to program management as needed.

 

Resource & Capacity Management

  • Build and lead resource and capacity planning frameworks across delivery teams.
  • Align headcount demand with pipeline and active work by partnering with Sales, Account Management, Functional Managers, and PMO.
  • Manage allocation processes and utilization tracking, enforcing compliance with time tracking standards.
  • Oversee time tracking hygiene and project setup integrity in Replicon or similar tools, supporting portfolio management and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain rolling 12-month capacity projections, providing insights into capacity vs. demand to inform resource strategies.
  • Drive technology strategy for continual improvement in capacity management processes.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in corporate PMO, project coordination, or business operations roles (Healthcare/SaaS/Tech experience preferred).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in IT project management, including Agile methodologies.
  • Strong background in software development technologies (experience or training).
  • Familiarity with project governance frameworks and time tracking systems (Replicon experience strongly preferred).
  • Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools; comfortable working with data to drive insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince2, or Certified Scrum Master certification is a plus.
