Lead Analyst - Line 2 Assurance, Enterprise Risk.

About the business/role/team

The Lead Analyst sits within the Line 2 Assurance team in the Risk and Compliance Department. Reporting to the Senior Manager this role will participate in and take a lead on second line oversight and review activity as part of a highly capable and experienced team of risk and assurance professionals. The team executes various types of oversight and assurance activity to provide a view on the risk and control environment and opportunities for improvement and to support the bank-wide risk transformation underway.

About the role

  • Participate in and lead assurance-related engagements from planning through to communication of observations and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Assess level of adoption of new risk standards and identify areas for improvement through regular and dynamic review and feedback.
  • Validate line 1 control self-assessment through a regular control assurance program of work.
  • Conduct targeted reviews across specific areas of risk / process to provide an in-depth view on the control environment.
  • Review of risk data and trends over time to identify themes and patterns.

About you

  • Proven experience in the assessment of internal controls to provide assurance that risks are controlled (can be through a line 1, line 2 or audit role).
  • Broad experience and knowledge of assurance methodologies, controls, and frameworks.
  • Experience across Technology and Cyber controls and related industry frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO etc) is a bonus.
  • Skills and experience in data and analysis to develop insights into the risk profile and to build and maintain an integrated view of controls’ effectiveness and assurance activities.
  • Ability to build relationships across the organisation to become a trusted second-line risk partner.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, risk management, compliance, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
