We’re looking for an innovative, collaborative Acoustics Lead who thrives on solving complex problems and building high‑performing teams. This role blends technical excellence with national capability growth, perfect for someone who is both a doer and a strategic developer, with the drive to shape and expand our acoustics offering across Australia.

The Opportunity

You will be working across diverse sectors including Buildings, Defence & Maritime, Water and Transport. As part of our national Engineering Sciences team, you’ll guide delivery on complex projects, grow our technical capability, and play a role in winning new work.

What You’ll Do

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead acoustic assessments and modelling using tools such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA, EASE, INSUL, and internal KBR modelling platforms.

  • Provide expert advice on building acoustics, room design, sound insulation, and noise control.

  • Ensure environmental and project compliance with relevant acoustic standards and regulations.

Project & Client Engagement

  • Present technical findings clearly to clients and stakeholders.

  • Support tenders, proposals, and business development activities.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate acoustics into broader design solutions.

Construction & Environmental Acoustics

  • Prepare noise impact assessments and environmental reporting.

  • Develop construction noise/vibration management plans and advise on mitigation strategies.

Team Development & Innovation

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, building capability nationally.

  • Drive continuous improvement and explore emerging acoustic technologies, modelling tools, and service offerings.

The ideal candidate

  • You will have a Bachelor of Engineering degree

  • A collaborative, creative problem‑solver who “thinks outside the square.”

  • A team-oriented leader who enjoys mentoring and growing capability.

  • Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with strategic input and client engagement.
