The Team
McCullough Robertson’s Estates team is a highly regarded, client-focused group with deep expertise in estate and trust administration. Since 1926, we have built enduring relationships with clients, often spanning generations, by taking the time to understand their unique circumstances and providing tailored, practical advice.
We handle everything from straightforward estate administration to complex succession planning and contested estates. Backed by the resources of a full-service firm, our team collaborates across practices, including tax, corporate, real estate, and finance, to deliver comprehensive, commercial solutions. Many of our lawyers are recognised specialists, reflecting our commitment to excellence and leadership in the field.
The Role
We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a lawyer to join a supportive and dynamic wills and estates practice. Working in this role, you will gain hands-on experience assisting clients with estate and trust administration, succession planning, and contested matters, while developing your technical expertise under the guidance of experienced lawyers.
You will be part of a collaborative environment where high-quality client service and practical, commercially minded advice are at the heart of everything we do. The role offers exposure to complex, high-profile matters, working with high net worth individuals, family offices, and their advisers, while contributing to the growth and success of the team.
Experience
As the successful candidate, you will be a lawyer, recently admitted. You will already hold several years of experience working within a law firm environment of similar size including with at least two years within an estates team, which could include working an administrative or paralegal capacity.
You will be willing and able to complete a pro bono focused secondment to the firm’s pro bono partner, LawRight for a period of six to eight weeks.
You will demonstrate a commitment to outstanding client service, an eagerness to learn and the enthusiasm to contribute to the growth of our team. Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the capability to thrive in a close-knit team are essential. Most importantly, you will have a genuine passion for estates law and a clear desire to build your career in this area.
