At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, Pennington Biomedical Research Center is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Horticultural Attendant in Facilities.
This position is part of the grounds crew that is responsible for maintaining the grounds and landscape of Pennington Biomedical. Pennington Biomedical is located on 222 acres in Baton Rouge.

Job Duties
Mowing, edging, raking, and sweeping parking areas/sidewalks. Operate mower, edger, clippers and tiller for proper landscape maintenance.
Weeding, cleaning flower beds, fertilizing and spraying chemicals. Properly store all chemicals and insecticides after use.
Prune and trim trees and shrubs.
Prepare grounds for bedding plants.

Appointment Type: Probational
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The approved hiring range is $16.06 - $22.48.
