Job Description:

The NAIC is excited to open applications for our Law Clerk Interns which our part of our Leaders of Tomorrow Summer Internship Program. This is a comprehensive internship program working a hybrid schedule out of our Kansas City office. This internship will provide a glimpse into the multifaceted field of insurance regulation.     

We are looking for enthusiastic 1Ls, 2Ls and 3Ls pursuing a JD who are interested in careers in insurance regulation to join our immersive summer internship program. The Legal Interns will be responsible for assisting attorneys with general legal research involving state and federal statutes, pending legislation, administrative regulations, regulatory guidance, NAIC proceedings and case law, with a heavy focus on tracking state legislation and updating 50-state charts for publication. 

Additional legal assignments may develop, such as assistance with legal memoranda, legislative summaries, and other legal work products. 

Requirements: 

Candidates must be currently enrolled in law school, pursuing a JD

 Internship Program Details:  

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid, up to three days in the Kansas City, Missouri office  

  • Hours: Monday – Friday, up to 37.5 hours per week  

  • Summer Internship Dates: 6/1/2026-8/7/2026 

  • Compensation: $24/hour  

  • Additional Benefits: Interns qualify for health insurance, parking, employee assistance programs, and wellness events.
